Alice Chung is a graduate of Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts,
Alice also earned her B. S. and M.S. degree from Seoul National University.

Artist's statement

In my painting, I try to recreate my own viewpoint for the viewer.  As I travel, I constantly observe the landscape and my othersurrounding areas have been a primary source of inspiration.  I begin to design my composition in a manner similar to that of the Impressionists. To evoke more intense feelings of excitement, I apply intense layer of bright color, bold brush stroke or a palette knife. These techniques result in color patches, which lend a slightly more contemporary feel to my work. My hope is to inspire feeling of comfort and happiness to the viewer instead of difficult understanding in art.
